When I think about Field Notes From Paris by INeke perfumes, I am reminded of the time I traveled to the city of lights from London for a late-night rendezvous with some insanely amazing artists from Iran. I arrived by train at 7 pm. We drank wine, smoked Capris, and let go of any expectations the night was supposed to go.
I walked the champs elysees at 4 am and witnessed couples falling in love, fornicating, as the Notre Dame Cathedral towered next to us. The thrill of one night in Paris, where everything is possible, where love was invented, where the scent of life at its most raw and unbridled lingers in every aspect of the night.
Field Notes From Paris takes me to a nostalgic place. A feeling that I’ve been here before; I’ve danced in these streets. And like a Parisian moment accurately captured by Brassai, Field Notes From Paris brings me to that star-struck evening, falling madly in love with my newfound artist friends, the city, and life.
Ineke Rühland is a classically-trained perfumer creating original fragrances in her independent studio in San Francisco, California.
Born and educated in Canada, she moved to Europe in 1988 for a career in the fragrance industry. After working in the Netherlands, England and France, she found herself passionately drawn to the creative role of the professional “nose”. So in 1996, she began her formal perfumery studies at ISIPCA in Versailles.
This woody-ambery structure combines the warmth of tobacco flower and leaf with the vintage perfumery notes of coriander seed, patchouli and tonka bean. Field Notes from Paris is an enigmatic scent with a warm, comforting presence.
